Thirty-four of the sixty persons in our church family over the age
seventy-five enjoyed their special luncheon Saturday, November 5. Along with
their spouses and guests, forty persons enjoyed a beautiful meal of Chicken
Kiev on wild rice, mixed peas and carrots, beet salad on baby lettuces, and
cake balls for dessert.
This event is sponsored by the Discipleship
and Missions Committee on behalf of our whole church to honor the
bridge-builders among us. Melodeee Haworth is chairperson of this committee.
Kathy Haworth coordinated this event including the meal. She was assisted by
Billie Shields, Emily Denton, Dee Boggs, Melodee Haworth, Pat Henley, and
Yvonne Miller. Jimmie Shields was a go-for and helped in the set-up. Glen
Haworth assisted in the set-up and take-down. Gordon Denton and Denise
Graham came to help with clean up.
Sheila Combs-Francis gave words
of greeting and the Invocation. Stephen Howard provided entertainment on the
piano. Servers for the luncheon included: Jennifer Peeper, Tammy Costello,
AnneMarie Miller, Debbie Hart, Gloria Cumpston, Sharon Parker, Laura Cooper,
and Leigh Ann Gillham. Thank you to all who helped make this a joyous
occasion!
